Meehan Raises More Than $790,000 in 3 1/2 Months for Congressional Campaign
Will help Meehan get his message out of resoring integrity and accountability to Congress
January 5thDREXEL HILL, PA – Former U.S. Attorney Pat Meehan, the Republican candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District, announced on Tuesday that his campaign has raised over $790,000 since announcing his candidacy on September 14th. That total includes more than $580,000 raised in the fiscal quarter ending December 31 and another $211,000 raised in the final two weeks of the 3rd quarter of 2009.
“These fundraising figures are a reflection of local residents’ dissatisfaction with the direction Congress is taking our country and growing support for my efforts to restore integrity and accountability to Washington,” said Meehan. “Pennsylvania residents are eager for an elected official who will ensure their voices are heard on critical issues like taxes, jobs, health care, and restoring fiscal responsibility to the federal government.”
“Heading into 2010, our campaign is continuing to build momentum,” said Meehan. “I am especially pleased with the grassroots support from a diverse range of local residents who showed their support with contributions of $5, $25, or $50. Already, people are very energized by our campaign, which bodes extremely well for the coming months.”
