Mothers' Home

Last week, I had the opportunity to attend an annual fundraiser for Mothers’ Home in Darby. For those of you unfamiliar with the organization, Mothers' Home is a shelter for pregnant women who have decided to give birth to their children despite abandonment and rejection.
Mothers' Home focuses on the emotional and physical development of the mother through various programs that help mothers prepare for parenthood, including parenting classes, therapy and job preparation courses. Mothers' Home empowers vulnerable mothers by assisting them in finding housing and jobs and setting them on the path to independence and self-sufficiency.
Mothers' Home is an organization that has been close to my family's heart for many years. My wife, Carolyn, began her involvement with Mothers' Home years ago and currently sits on its advisory board. Mothers' Home does vitally important work by giving women an opportunity to choose life for their children and helping women prepare for the challenge of motherhood.
There are many ways for individuals to support Mothers' Home, such as donating a range of needed items, including diapers, wipes, baby clothes and general home supplies For more information, please visit their website, www.mothershome.org, or call them at (610) 583-HOME.
