5 Schneller Circulators Also Circulated Lentz Petitions

Lentz still refuses to comment despite overwhelming evidence of his campaign's involvement
August 5th

DREXEL HILL, PA - New links between Democrat Bryan Lentz' campaign and circulators who worked to put third party candidate on the ballot today were exposed today, with evidence showing five Lentz petition circulators also circulated petitions for independent James Schneller.  Despite the clear involvement of Lentz' campaign volunteers and other Democratic Party operatives in this cynical and deceptive political dirty trick, Lentz continues to duck reporters' questions on the issue.

These five Lentz petition circulators - Colleen Guiney, Matthew Silva, Richard Cairns, Joseph Gallagher, and David Merle Lewis -- collected more than 1,100 signatures for Schneller.  At a press conference on April 2, Lentz called Guiney - who serves as Chair of the Swarthmore Democratic Party -- "the hardest worker on my campaign."  In total, 4,800 of Schneller's signatures were collected by Lentz supporters and Democrat party operatives, officials, and committee people.

"Bryan Lentz directed his underlings to dupe voters into believing they were working on behalf of an independent candidate.  He hijacked the commitment of true independent activist for his own political ambitions," said Bryan Kendro, Meehan Campaign Manager.  "It is a question of integrity and Bryan Lentz is compounding a wrong by refusing to answer questions."

"Bryan Lentz needs to come clean now and explain his actions," said Bryan Kendro.  "People are tired of this kind of shady manipulative politics that has become business as usual in Washington."

Petition circulators for Schneller include Colleen Guiney, Chair of the Swarthmore Democratic Party; Matt Silva, a district leader for the Upper Darby Democratic Party; numerous Democratic Party committee people; Nicholas Allred, internet director and blogger for the Swarthmore College Democrats; and Julie Klein, who has actively raised money for Lentz on Act Blue.
