Lentz Campaign Workers, Democrat Operative Helped Third Party Candidate Get Signature Petitions
DREXEL HILL, PA - Democrat party leaders, activists, and Bryan Lentz campaign workers collected roughly 4,800 signatures for third party candidate James Schneller in an effort to place the candidate on the ballot as a spoiler and split the conservative vote in the upcoming November election for Congress in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District.Petition circulators for Schneller include Colleen Guiney, who Lentz referred to as "the hardest worker on my campaign" and serves as Chairman of the Swarthmore Democratic Party; Matt Silva, a district leader for the Upper Darby Democratic Party; Nicholas Allred, internet director and blogger for the Swarthmore College Democrats; and Julie Klein, who has actively raised money for Lentz on Act Blue.
"Bryan Lentz is once again engaging in political shenanigans and will stop at nothing to make this race about everything except the issue most important to voters; jobs and the economy," said Bryan Kendro, campaign manager for the Meehan for Congress campaign. "Lentz's supporters and associates have engaged in an underhanded attempt to manipulate the ballot and split the conservative vote by using Jim Schneller as nothing more than a prop. Lentz' cynical political games show that he is a typical politician who will do or say anything to get elected."
"The Lentz campaign has repeatedly dodged questions about its involvement in this effort, which speaks volumes," said Kendro. "Bryan Lentz needs to come clean with the voters and explain his campaign's efforts to get Schneller placed on the ballot."
