DREXEL HILL, PA - Pat Meehan, the Republican candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania's 7th Congressional District, has raised more than $500,000 in the second quarter fundraising period of the year.
Meehan's fundraising support and his accomplishments as a former U.S. Attorney and District Attorney have earned him recognition as one of the top open seat candidates and challengers in the nation. RealClearPolitics.com, a non-partisan political news and polling site lists the 7th District race as "Leans GOP."
"Voters are concerned by the big government, tax and spend agenda in Congress and know that I will serve as the voice of the forgotten taxpayer in speaking out against the policies that have overtaken Washington," said Meehan. "We cannot continue down this path of budget deficits and ever-growing national debt, and the growing support for my campaign is a reflection of voters' rejection of these flawed policies. I am committed to putting our nation back on the right track to economic recovery, job creation, and a balanced budget."
The $500,000 raised this quarter brings Meehan's total amount raised for his campaign to more than $1.6 million, with more than $1 million cash on hand.
