MEDIA, PA – Congressman Pat Meehan announced today that his campaign filed 4,750 signatures with the Pennsylvania Department of State in support of his nomination as the Republican candidate for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 7th Congressional District.
Pennsylvania candidates running for a seat in the United States Congress are required to submit 1,000 signatures in order to appear on the primary ballot.
“I’m truly thankful to every voter who signed a nominating petition on my behalf,” said Congressman Meehan. “These signatures are a sign of tremendous grassroots support for our agenda to create jobs, grow our economy and balance our budget.”
Meehan's campaign submitted petitions from all five counties in the new 7th District: Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, Berks and Lancaster counties.
“I’m especially grateful to those who took the time to circulate a petition. Going door-to-door and gathering signatures in the cold of winter takes real dedication. The countless volunteers who circulate petitions, work phone banks and go door-to-door are the backbone of my campaign.” Meehan concluded.
