Dear Friends

A little more than 24 hours ago, I received a gracious phone call from my opponent, Bryan Lentz, who conceded defeat in our campaign to represent the 7th District in Congress. Bryan waged a tough, hard-fought race and I have great respect for his service to our nation.
 
But last night's dramatic victory would not have been possible without your support. Whether you came into the office and made phone calls to voters, supported the campaign financially or simply talked with your friends and family members about the great challenges facing our country, your hard work was integral to our efforts. In the waning hours of the campaign, I traveled across the District visiting our get-out-the-vote phone banks and I was truly inspired by the dedication and commitment of the hundreds of volunteers working tirelessly to get voters to the polls. With your help, we were able to contact more than 80,000 voters - an incredible number unmatched by any campaign in the history of the 7th Congressional District.
 
Your hard work paid off, and last night was the culmination of months of perseverance. But I'd like to think of last night not as the end, but as the beginning of a meaningful dialogue with constituents here in the7th District. I look forward to hearing your thoughts, ideas and concerns as I go to Washington to represent you in Congress.
